Beginners climbing course - indoor top rope

Join the passionate climbing instructors at the Norwegian Center of Mountaineering for an indoor top-rope climbing course – a perfect first time climbing experience for any newcomers.

In this course, you get a basic introduction to securing and climbing with top ropes. The course qualifies for a top rope card, which upon passing the test qualifies you to secure children or adults on top ropes at all indoor climbing walls in Norway.

You will learn the basics of climbing during this three-hour climbing course, complete the test and earn the indoor top rope certification. If you pass the test, you order the top rope card from the Norwegian Climbing Association, it costs NOK 200 to register. This top rope certification gives you access to climb in all climbing halls in Norway.

Participants under 18 need to have parental consent. We look forward to facilitating the start of your climbing adventure!

Meeting time & place: Norsk Tindesenter, Havnegata 2, 6300 Åndalsnes

Duration:3-4 hours

Minimum age: 13 years. Younger children can climb in the bouldering hall while parents take the course.
